NYUZ (pronounced news) is a Training and Consulting company for the jewellery industry.
Founded in January 2005 by Navin Sadarangani (link to Read My Journey) , it is evolving every day with a vision “To become the Preferred Jewellery Retail Service Provider”

At the start, the whole idea of Jewellery Retail Services was non-existent and hence NYUZ started by offering Training of Frontline Retail Sales Personnel as its only service and revenue generator. The mission stated then and still remains “To influence the quality of management and service in the domestic jewellery sector” through quality coaching.”

After 10 years of making news largely as a Training Provider to brands like TBZ, Khimji, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Aisshpra, Gili, Nirvana, D’damas; Family Jewellers like Anmol, Hazoorilal Legacy, Shobha Asar, Harit Zaveri, Kalasha Fine Jewels, Varda Goenka, Mahesh Notandass; Trade Bodies like GJEPC, DTC, PGI; and International Jewellery Players like Rosy Blue, Oro, Kanz Jewels in Dubai, Mustafa Jewellery in Singapore, NYUZ took on its complete emergence.

Great associations have been built up with jewellery industry experienced Graphic Design Outfits,
Advertising Agencies, Architects, Website Development Companies, Packaging and Printing Vendors to allow for quick access in case a need exists. A lot of co-venture work/projects have also been carried out with The Times of India Group, Femina, DNA, NDTV Good Times, Zee TV, Balaji Telefilms and other media publications and houses even in the jewellery industry like The Retail Jeweller, The Indian Jeweller etc.

A much neglected area of Training in the Jewellery Industry is that of Frontline Sales Personnel in the Retail Sector.
Whether it is Product Knowledge, Company Background & Legacy, Buy Back Policies, Guarantees, Warranties,
Price Calculation, Trade and Market Knowledge, Repairs and Renewals, Operational Working, Changes in
Business Conditions, all of it has never been put across in clear context to the new recruit.
And hence the ladder starts and ends right there for most passionate jewellery sales executives.

My Journey

Navin Sadarangani, before starting NYUZ, has been woking for 13 long years with the Rosyblue Group, the largest diamond sightholder of Debeers (DTC). His career graph...

1992 - 1994

Fluke entry into the jewellery industry in 1992 at Intergold (SEEPZ) and was part of
International Sales Team alongwith Sucheta Khandwala and Priti Mehta heading Japan till 1994.

1995 - 1996

Learnt Jewellery Manufacture in-house and helped set up the first platinum jewellery
factory for the group called International Gold Co Ltd ( 1995-1996)

1996 - 2002

Moved out as part of the Core Team with the Chairman and MD to set up a chain of jewellery
retail stores called Intergold(now Orra) and was there till 2003

2002 - 2004

Helped set up a jewellery distribution company called Hammer Plus Jewellery (for Hammer &
Sohne, partners of Rosy Blue for Intergold) and headed Business Development till 2005

1st Jan, 2005

Set-up NYUZ, A Jewellery Sales Training and Consultancy firm.

Hence he has been tuned to the different facets of the jewellery industry and was part of 3 start-up companies. He is a speaker at leading trade seminars of the industry and has been a Knowledge Partner to leading Conferences in the Jewellery Industry.

Navin Sadarangani is a fair writer and enjoys playing with words . He has represented School and College in Cricket, Football, Hockey and Carrom and remains an active sportsman till date. His passion for sports has also lead to creating India’s first sports reality show on Colors called BCL (owned by Balaji Telefilms) and he is CEO/Co-Owner of the PUNE ANMOL RATN Team. This team has leading TV & Film stars playing. He has also pioneered a concept of NYUZMAKERS CRICKET CHALLENGE, a cricket tourney for the retail jewellery industry.

In the past years Navin has been honoured with an Award at the DNA hosted National Gems & Jewellery Summit for “Outstanding Contribution to the G & J Industry”. Subsequently he also won the Achievers Award by the GJTCI in Gujarat. During the recent covid times he was awarded as the Game Changer 2019 by the Sindhi Chambers of Commerce, Brand Impact Award by the Indian Achievers Forum in 2020, Entrepreneur Excel Award for Outstanding Results and Excellent Conduct in the Professional Field in 2020, Vyapaar Jagat Award for Outstanding Training and Education Company of the Year 2022.

Taarika Sadarangani

Taarika Sadarangani, who looks after the Accounts of NYUZ is consistent in her attitude and good with numbers. A Commerce Graduate, she has been a Banker all of her working life with a leading multinational bank and right now chooses to take care of the Accounting, Taxation and other Legal Obligations. Being the wife of the Founder and having a focused book-keeping role, it allows her to have a Work-from-Home routine right from the start.

Bhakti Goradia

Graduated in commerce and developed myself through Early Child Education ECE Training. Being passionate about Jewellery & fashion have worked as a Brand Manager in jewellery industry. As I am a people’s person, passion for people and training made me join NYUZ. I like to meet new people and being a Retail Sales Trainer gives me that opportunity and to further improve myself.

Amit Singh

Has studied till Higher Secondary education and then due to economic situations at home, chose to get into work. From a Peon with Anil Kambare to an Office Asst in NYUZ, I think I have also grown to become more disciplined, responsible and intutive. I love to serve others and NYUZ is my happy place to be at on every day of the week.

SHAHINA TABASSUM

A Post Graduate from Calcutta university, I have also done a certificate course in TTC , Journalism and Mass Comminucation. Having worked as a councillor in Maulana Azad open University and worked as a Teacher in Anjuman Islamia Girls high School got me to look at a teaching career sincerely. I then worked as a Teacher in RBG High school in Kolkata as well as in St. Catherine School, Mumbai. NYUZ allows me to teach, but it also allows me to learn again.
